National Federation of High School Coaches Association Names Shawnee High School’s Drew Wagner as Coach of the Year

Shawnee High School is proud to announce that Drew Wagner, Shawnee High School Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, has been named the 2024-2025 NJ Coach of the Year in the sport of Girls Soccer by the National Federation of High Schools Coaches Association (NFHSCA).

Mr. Rich Dodd, Shawnee High School Athletic Director, states ”Coach Wagner has had a very successful career as the Shawnee High School Girls Varsity Soccer Coach, and in addition to winning the girls soccer program’s first ever state championship in 2024, Coach Wagner was honored and awarded the Large Public School Girls 2024 National Coach of the Year as well as the United States East Region Coach of the Year in 2024 by the United Soccer Coaches Association.  We are not surprised to see him continue to be recognized and honored as an exemplary coach.  On and off the field, Coach Wagner is a great asset to both the Shawnee High School Athletics and Shawnee High School Physical Education Departments.” 

Coach Wagner will be honored as the state Coach of the Year by the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association on January 11, 2026, at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.
