MEMBERSHIP POLICY
Shawnee business students can begin their DECA experience as early as the 9th grade by enrolling in a marketing, finance, hospitality, business management or entrepreneurship course. They can retain their membership in DECA as long as they are actively pursuing courses in one of the content areas. DECA activities are student-funded and partially funded by the School Store.
MEMBERSHIP POLICY
Each member MUST abide by the guidelines below:
- Pay DECA fees
- $35 New Members OR $25 Returning Members
- District $200 Activity Fee ($300 if you play sports)

Attend at least 5 out of the 9 Chapter meetings
- Compete at the District Competition (test & role play)

Raise at least $10 for our annual DECA charity
Varsity Letter
Earned if you compete at States, OR if you are a Senior who has been in the club for at least 3 years.
Academic Awards
Earned if you are acknowledged at Districts/States/ICDC for any individual/team event, or if you are a State or ICDC Qualifier.

By leveraging their DECA membership, members can become:
