Darcy Roth: Assistant Director

Mrs. Roth is one of the newest additions to the All School Musical family at Shawnee High School. She was hired at Shawnee in 2012 to teach biology which, in addition to music and theater, is one of her greatest passions. Before Shawnee she taught earth science in a middle school in Wall Township, but as a graduate of Shawnee's sister school Lenape Regional High School, Mrs. Roth was happy to return to the district she loves so much. While a student at Lenape High School, Mrs. Roth participated in many of the arts programs including (but not limited to) the musicals, concert choir, chamber choir, girls ensemble, art club, etc. Outside of school she was involved in several other theater programs, including a summer Broadway retreat. This retreat was an audition week long camp in which Broadway stars came to south jersey to work with a handful of students for five very long and intense rehearsals. At the end of the five days of rehearsing the students put on a local concert for the community.

After graduating from Lenape, Mrs. Roth attended Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Although she did still participate in some of the arts programs there, her focus turned mostly to her academics which were based in the sciences. In 2011 she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in biology and education, with a minor in chemistry.

Although Mrs. Roth has a fierce passion for the sciences, she could not be more happy to be back working with the music and theater that she also loves. She is overwhelmingly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful staff and with such wonderful students during the All School Musical.
